The Fisher Island Transportation Department is open every day of the year, 24 hours each day, to serve your transportation needs. Transportation Department ferries operate every day to accommodate private passenger vehicles less than 24 feet long and 8 feet wide, emergency vehicles, designated commercial vehicles less than 24 feet long and 8 feet wide, and Members’ vehicle and trailer combinations less than 40 feet long and 8 feet wide.
The Fisher Island Public Safety Department is a multi-function department comprised of officers with various security experience in both the private and public sectors. These officers are trained to perform Security, First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) life saving techniques. The Public Safety Officers currently staff numerous strategic posts 24 hours a day 7 days a week throughout the island which assist in a quicker response time, more efficient patrolling and providing our elite Members and guests a level of customer service that can only be obtained on Fisher Island. The Public Safety Department also works closely with the island-based Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue and Miami Dade Police.
The Public Safety Department also operates Terminal West located on MacArthur Causeway, Terminal East, which includes an Employee Parking Garage and Ferry Terminal, and the Guest and Resident Marinas located on Fisher Island. Officers assigned to these locations work closely with our Guest Clearance Agents who ensure that all Members, guest, employees and vendors who wish to obtain access to Fisher Island obtain the proper clearance.
Residents are reminded that calling 911 ensures the fastest response time and provides the most accurate pre-arrival instructions for emergency medical calls. You should not call Public Safety first in the event of a medical emergency. CALL 911 FIRST and then call Public Safety after the dispatcher has advised you it is okay to hang up with them.
The Fisher Island Public Works Department is a full-service operation comprised of landscape development, nursery operation, and repairs and maintenance. With the Islands most extensive equipment inventory and a 7 day a week staff, the department delivers to its clients while accommodating their changing timetables.
